About

After working internationally and nationally on projects that were often disconnected from where she lived, Susan Desko, AIA founded her practice between Sun Valley, Idaho and Los Angeles in 2000 with the intention of prioritizing a connection to both communities and has since advanced a regionally grounded design approach that integrates deep material knowledge, mentoring and community engagement.

Her studio has built a portfolio of critically acclaimed work across a range of scales and project types while providing architecture, interior design, landscape design and planning services.

Susan received her Masters Degree in Architecture from The Graduate School of Design at Harvard University in 1988 and a Bachelor of Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1982.

Susan’s history of practice includes apprenticeships and collaborations with Helfrich Briles Architects, Heery & Heery Architects, Mack Scogin and Merrill Elam Architects in Atlanta, Georgia;  Frank Gehry & Associates and the Jerde Partnership in Santa  Monica and Venice, California.
